    • adelaideuke Says:

Hi there – most of what we have to say about ourselves is here on this site. If you have other questions please ask away!

  2. Recyclopath Says:

Yeah i was wondering if your beginners nights were still running as i’d be interested in going?

    • adelaideuke Says:

The beginners nights have sort of merged with the regular nights, but beginners are welcome any night and experienced players will help you to get started – please come along!

    Hey Guys,

How about a round of applause for Vivien.
Last Friday night at the Gov was a lot of fun, and while everyone deserved a pat on the back, little Miss Vivien, was determined to look after us & encourage us into the party mood with lots of lei’s, flowers, and oh yes, champagne too! :0)
Thanks for the party Vivien x

I was a shy little wallflower… actually more like that little naked guy from Life of Brian who was living in a hole and hadn’t spoken for 17 years…. until I discovered the AUAS. Now, despite lack of singing voice and any notable musical talent, I hang out with a happy vibrant bunch of well dressed folk at festivals, radio shows and the Gov’s front bar. Yep, Miss Helen, what a party that was.

Praise be to the Tonkin family for my salvation!

    Hi

I have just moved to Adelaide from the UK. I’ve played a bit of music but never the ukulele. I am looking to meet people who are in to playing music, laughing at/with each other and drinking. Am I right in thinking I may have found what I am looking for?

    • Rosalie Day Says:

Hello Michael – why don’t you come along next Tuesday and find out? If you don’t have a ukulele there may be a spare you can borrow.

      Rosalie

      • Michael Says:

Thanks Rosalie. It’s in the diary.

      • Michael Says:

Hey, sorry I didn’t make it last time – the weather was lousy and the prospect of coming to grips with the mysteries of the Adelaide public transport system in the rain was too much.

I’ll be at the next one

  6. Michael Says:

I’ll be coming along next Tuesday and would like to buy myself a ukulele. I do not play the ukulele but do play guitar, banjo and a bit of mandolin so figure it’s worth buying a pretty decent instrument (prepared to pay $500).

What would people suggest? I’ve toyed with the idea of getting a tenor or baritone ukulele (though I’m cooling on the idea of a Baritone). Any thoughts? Where in Adelaide might I find a decent collection of instruments for sale?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
