July and August events

by

13 July Our usual massed session. Think about songs you want to perform at Limelight (formerly known as show and tell) and find some other players and start rehearsing!

20 July Strummin’ and pickin’ with Richard T. Learn new strums, new rhythms and how to play better.

23 July Friday night Front Bar gig – if you haven’t been long before, it’s time to be bold and join in. It’s social, it’s toasty, it’s fun. You can play a little or a lot, for some or all the night. Yes, it’s that relaxed. No performance anxiety here, folks.

25 July Willunga Almond Blossom Festival – a 40 minute set in the afternoon – please email Richard G rgibson@scorpex.net to register enthusiasm and for more info.

27 July Di Caught (of The Joans and other great acts) will help us channel Elvis. You know what that means: there’ll be A Little Less Conversation, because we’re All Uked Up, and she Don’t Be Cruel or a Hard Headed Woman, so we’ll turn the Gov into a Tunnel of Love.

3 August Richard T leads a session for beginners and novices at the Gov.

10 August Our usual massed session. But note, Richard Gibson has the blues, dear friends, you can hear it in his music. And he’s gonna share ’em. and then you can practice

17 August Strummin’ and pickin’ with Richard T. Learn new strums, new rhythms and how to play better.

24 August Limelight.
Yes, another night of all uke-ing, all singing, some dancing, some kazoos and lots of surprises in the front bar.
There’ll be group numbers of course, but start thinking about small groups or solo pieces, and plot some practice time on the Tuesday before then.
(bring family, bring friends, and remember 2-for-1 pizza offer)
