AUAS in the Fringe Parade Friday 18 Feb!

As announced last night AUAS is now officially participating in the Fringe Parade. Thanks to all who indicated their intention to join in.

Here are the requirements:

5.45pm Friday 18 February 2011 in Bartels Road, Adelaide

Exact location to be confirmed. Please remember that it will be difficult to park around Bartels Road at that time so allow plenty of time to park or walk to the area.  Parade lineup will move from Bartels Road to Dequetteville Tce at 6.45pm – Parade step off 7pm.

WHAT TO WEAR: The fringe parade is all about colour and spectacle. The organisers ask participants to accent their costumes in one or more of the following colours – high-viz ORANGE, fluoro PINK or fire engine RED.

BRING YOUR UKULELE! We will not expect to be heard as there is usually a fair bit of noise, but we will be seen and may have a chance to play a song or 2 if there is a quiet moment along the way.

Please remember that:

  • Hot weather is possible – bring hat and water if you need them
  • There is a period of at least an hour of assembling and waiting around before the parade begins
  • You need to have the stamina to walk the route of the parade – about 1km or so. The Parade route is the same as last year – along Dequetteville Terrace, turning left up Rundle Road past the Garden of Unearthly Delights, turning left on to East Terrace and back to Bartels Road

If you can handle that, it is a fun event to take part in and you will get more than your lifetime allocation of 15 minutes of fame.
