Anyone for MUF?

by

We have received a friendly invitation from our Melbourne Ukulele Kollective comrades:

Dear AUAS

It was great to play with you guys at the Adelaide Fringe Festival in 2009! Now…With only weeks to go till this year’s awesome 5-day Melbourne Ukulele Festival, (25 February –  1 March) we’re sending a quick reminder to all uke groups (because we have just come across one who didn’t know it was happening!). With 7 international acts from NZ (Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra), USA, Canada, Israel, Italy, & Belgium; 15 interstaters and over 20 local legends all at iconic Melbourne venues, plus workshops for kids and for adults, a uke picnic, luthiers market, uke art display/sale, jamming opportunities, and quality ukulele prizes (including a Scott Wise, Kala and Kiwaya) – this is a big weekend not to be missed!

With budget uke-friendly accommodation available, and a fabulous city like Melbourne to explore, how could you NOT come? The MUF festival also coincides with the famous Brunswick Music Festival, so you can kill 2 birds with one stone.

Or, if you want a taster of what’s on offer before you decide, or sadly just can’t make it down to Melbourne, some of the cream of the festival are touring in the MUF Showcase tour the week before the festival (Feb 17 -23) to Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra and Central Victoria – check it out on the MUF website

Come on down – you know you’ll have a ball!

Thanks MUK friends! We would all love to come and doubtless some of us will be there. We are just about to begin a big festival frenzy over here, so all the best for MUF 2011 from those of us who can’t make the trip to Melbourne.
